One of the Museu Carlos Costa Pinto's aims is to publish information on its collections and exhibitions. As a result, its directors established a publications program that has accompanied the Museum throughout its existence.

In addition to these publications, the Museum has published a quarterly newsletter titled Informativo MCCP since December 2000. The Museum Library has produced the Boletim do Museu Carlos Costa Pinto annually since 1977 to publish articles written by the institution's technical staff.

The Museum Shop sells both publications and souvenirs.
