In addition to mounting permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum also carries out ongoing cultural activities.

Since 2000, it has been modernizing its publications and museum science methods, including the fabrication of anodized aluminum showcases, the installation of fiber-optic lighting and climate-controlled areas, and the introduction of attractive visual planning.

This museological and conceptual reformulation also includes holding temporary exhibitions of other Brazilian collections, both private and institutional. They began in May 2001 with the exhibit titled “ The Sacred and Secular in the Beatriz and Mário Pimenta Camargo Collection.”
